During a visit to the Magic Kingdom yesterday, a WDWNT contributor (contributor) noticed that the boats of “it’s a small world” were “absolutely filthy.”
The contributor said it was “one of the most disgusting sights” they’ve seen at the Walt Disney World theme parks.
The yellow boats tend to highlight the issue, according to the contributor. As you can see in the photos below, “black grime” (grime) runs along the side of the boat.

It’s worth noting that the contributor points out the line of grime is well above the boat’s water line.
“These are just plain filthy and disgusting, looking similar to abandoned cars in a post-apocalyptic wasteland rather than a happy boat ride through the countries of the world.”
Spencer Lloyd, WDWNT
It would be fair to suggest that the boats haven’t been cleaned for months now. You can take a closer look at the grime in the photo below.

The contributor suggests that the rest of “it’s a small world” is in rough shape. Lights are burnt out or malfunctioning and a number of figures are not moving or missing completely.

It appears to us that not only have Disney forgotten about maintenance, but they’ve also forgotten the standard of cleanliness.
What does it make you think when you see the state of the “it’s a small world” boats? Let us know in the comments.
