According to Blog Mickey sources, an announcement about the return of Fantasmic is coming soon. Rehearsals have been ongoing as Cast Members prepare to bring back the evening show…with a few changes!
The show’s theater has undergone upgrades in order to support the nighttime show. Construction crews worked tirelessly to get the theater ready so that rehearsals could start. Back in November 2021, Disney announced that Fantasmic would be returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios sometime in 2022.
Also, Disney also announced that the iconic show will have a new scene. Since the announcement of the new scene, Blog Mickey reported on a rumour which suggested the Pocahontas scene has been cut from Fantasmic. However, Disney hasn’t revealed any more details.
Several months ago, the moat that surrounds the theater was refilled as construction crews completed some more work on the theater.
It would appear that the announcement for the show’s return could be imminent. The established outlet’s sources aren’t sure on when the show will return, however they do suggest that Fantasmic is ready to return very soon.
A precise timeframe hasn’t been given, but Blog Mickey sources suggest it will likely be ready to return as April, with a “hold until Memorial Day (or later) possible if Disney wants a summer marketing carrot.”
