Disney has announced today that construction on The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will start on the 1st March.
According to WDWNT, this work is a part of the resort’s planned expansion. The following statement comes from the Disney Travel Agent Site (via WDWNT):
“As we previously shared, we are working on our grand plans to expand and enhance The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Beginning March 1st, guests will notice construction and refurbishment work at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during daytime hours. Most resort amenities will remain available to guests throughout this work.”
The expansion is part of an effort to add 200 more Disney Vacation Club suites to the resort’s property. The Big Pine Key building will become host to the Disney Vacation Club, turning its rooms into resort studios that will sleep up to five guests.
In case you don’t know, Big Pine Key is on the east side of the main building at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and faces Seven Seas Lagoon.
