A hazmat team is dealing with a chemical spill today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, according to the state and the Orlando Sentinel

Around 255 gallons of sodium hypochlorite spilled from a storage tank on the ground because of equipment failure, according to a notice from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

The above-mentioned chemical tends to be used as a disinfectant or a bleaching agent, according to the National Institutes of Health.

No waterways were affected, the notice stated, adding the spill was contained, and cleanup was in process at the Reedy Creek Energy Services Chiller Plant.

The above-mentioned plant is located at 245 Showbiz Blvd, which is behind Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Reedy Creek Improvement District, Disney’s government that handles the infrastructure for the Walt Disney World resort, reported the spill to the state.
