New map of Epcot shows the removal of Fountain of Nations, Club Cool and more

With a substantial portion of Future World in Epcot being prepared to be walled off, we are getting our first glimpse at what the new (digital) map of the park will illustrate when the significant changes1 begin this weekend.

The map of Epcot shows the removal of the Fountain of Nations, Club Cool, the Fountain View Starbucks and Character Spot.

As reported by Blog Mickey, it aligns with the section of the park which will be behind construction walls.     

1: These changes are a part of the historic Epcot transformation – Orlando Theme Park Zone will be posting a detailed article on the transformation project in due course.

Fountain of Nations – 8th September, 2019 (closing date)

Fountain of Nations will be closed on the 8th September, 2019. The last planned day of operation being today, 7th September, 2019. The Fountains of Nations is listed as a permanent closure as a part of Epcot’s overhaul project aka reimagining.

Fountain View Starbucks – 8th September (closing date)

Fountain View Starbucks will be closed on the 8th September, 2019. The last planned day of operation being today, 7th September, 2019. Disney announced that Starbucks would make a temporary location.

Club Cool – 8th September (closing date)

Club Cool will be closed on the 8th September, 2019. The last planned day of operation being today, 7th September, 2019. Don’t panic! It’s coming back. Club Cool will reopen in a new capacity in a different merchandise location.

Art of Disney – 8th September (closing date)

Art of Disney will be closed on the 8th September 2019. The last planned day of operation being today, 7th September, 2019. Heritage Manor in The American Adventure will become the new location for Art of Disney at a later date.

Innoventions East – 8th September (closing date)

The Innoventions East will be closed on the 8th September, 2019. The last planned day of operation being today, 7th September, 2019. The two remaining exhibits – Colortopia and Nanooze Break – are included in this.  

Character Spot – 8th September (TEMPORARY closure date)

Character Spot is set to close for good on the 8th September, 2019. The last planned day of operation being today, 7th September, 2019. The characters in this specific location will be relocated temporarily, as work in main spine of Epcot is undertaken.

Listed below are where the characters can be found:

  • With brand new locations being developed for Mickey Mouse and Goofy, the duo will appear temporarily appear in Innoventions West.
    • In the foreseeable future, Mickey will move to a brand-new location in the Imagination! Pavilion. Goofy will head on into Epcot and soon will find a new location.Minnie Mouse will move into the World Showcase Gazebo.
  • Daisy Duck will move to The American Adventure.
  • Joy will move to a new location
  • Guests will be able to meet Winnie the Pooh at Christopher Robin’s bedroom in the United Kingdom Pavilion.
